Challenge
During my time at Arcelik Small Home appliances team, I supported the creation of new home appliances concepts. As our living spaces become smaller due to modern living trends, the need for appliances that take up less space and can perform multiple functions becomes increasingly essential. This is because traditional home appliances that are large and can only perform one function may need to be more practical and efficient in smaller living spaces. Therefore, compact and dual-functioning home appliances are becoming more popular as they offer more versatility and space-saving solutions for modern living.
“How might we create dual-functioning devices in modern living spaces?”
Result
Throughout the entire process, starting from the initial sketches, concept creation, and 3D models, I worked alongside a skilled team of designers, engineers, and model makers at Arcelik. Our goal was to create a new design that not only met the technical requirements but also remained within the cost specifications. Our efforts resulted in the Grundig Exclusive Product Family, which combines dual functionality within a single product. This design helps save space, and the geometry has been rearranged to create a slim form.
