Challenge
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected us all and led to an increase in people working from home or using their homes for leisure activities. The kitchen, in particular, has become a multifunctional and social space that serves as a place to cook, share, work, chat, and do homework. Flexibility is key, as people want to be able to customize their homes to suit their lifestyles. The kitchen, as the center of life at home, reflects the social changes and transformations we are experiencing, including our ways of life, behaviours, and evolution. In light of these changes, the question is how can we respond to the user habits that have been modified by the pandemic?

During this project, our goal was to create a cutting-edge kitchen product that meets consumers' current needs and preferences. To do this, we conducted extensive research and gathered input from focus groups and other sources to understand how the pandemic has affected consumer behavior and what features and designs are most important to them.
Based on this research, we developed Pandemeal, a versatile meal preparation unit that combines a precision scale, cooker, and blender in one convenient device. One of the key features of Pandemeal is its cordless operation, which allows it to be used in any location and makes it easy to clean and store.
In addition to its practical capabilities, Pandemeal is designed to support a human-centered workflow in the kitchen. This means that it is tailored to the user's needs and helps streamline meal preparation tasks, making it easier and more enjoyable to cook at home.
Throughout the concept and product development phases, I supported the team in bringing Pandemeal to life. This included contributing ideas and feedback, helping to refine the design and features, and ensuring that the final product meets the needs and expectations of consumers.
