Challenge
Sharp requested that we design a new family of products in various form factors that would create a unified product family with a consistent design language that meets the needs of their customers. To complete this project in six months, we needed to consider using Vestel's existing product platforms from the start to launch.
Result
In this project, we aimed to help Sharp, a leading consumer electronics company, develop a new product family with a distinct and recognizable brand identity. To achieve this, we supported the development process from design to implementation, ensuring that the final products reflected Sharp's design vision and met the needs of consumers.
The products were designed with a simple, iconic shape that is easily distinguishable from competitors and features a unique visual design language representing the Sharp brand. To create these products, we minimized plastic components and conducted extensive design research, model building, prototyping, and testing to ensure that they were of the highest quality and functionality.
I was the Lead Designer in the project from the initial design phase to product implementation. This included conducting design research, building models, providing implementation support, and segmenting the products to meet the needs of different consumers.
The resulting design lineup was recognized for its excellence, receiving the Good Design 2020, Plus X Award 2021, and IDA 2021 awards. These accolades demonstrate the success of our efforts to cultivate a distinct expression for Sharp and create products that stand out in the market.
